Hansi Flick outlines emergency Barcelona backline plans ahead of PSG Champions League clash
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has revealed emergency defensive solutions ahead of their Champions League tie against PSG amid a major injury crisis.
Ahead of Barcelona's UEFA Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes, manager Hansi Flick revealed emergency defensive contingency plans due to a severe injury crisis. Key defenders Jules Koundé (ankle sprain) and Éric García (thigh injury) have been ruled out, while Gerard Martín suffered foot discomfort, leaving Pau Cubarsí as the primary fit senior center-back available.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Flick confirmed that midfielders Frenkie de Jong and Rodri could be utilized in defense alongside 18-year-old Alex Campos. "Frenkie de Jong can play, and Alex Campos is also with us. I am certain everything will go well," Flick stated. On a positive note for the Catalan side, forward Raphinha is poised to return to the starting XI after recovering from a hamstring injury.
