Manchester City Host Brighton in Premier League Rematch Three Days After Cup Shootout
Manchester City prepare to face Brighton & Hove Albion again at the Etihad Stadium following a tense midweek Carabao Cup penalty victory.
Manchester City are set to host Brighton & Hove Albion at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, October 31, 2026, in a Premier League fixture taking place just three days after their midweek cup clash. In Wednesday night's Carabao Cup fourth-round tie, City defeated Brighton 4-3 on penalties following a 2-2 draw. Mateo Kovacic (40') and Vitor Reis (72') scored for City, while Malick Yalcouye (30') and Georginio Rutter (47') netted for Brighton.
Reflecting on the shootout success, City manager Enzo Maresca admitted: "To be honest, since I've been here we never practised penalties," while confirming rested stars like Erling Haaland will return for Saturday's match. Meanwhile, Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler expressed eagerness for the rematch, stating: "We lost in a shoot-out. We had enough chances to win the game but the goals we conceded were very unlucky... We have a great chance on Saturday to take revenge."
