Bayern Munich Prepare for Der Klassiker as Harry Kane Nears New Extension
FC Bayern Munich host Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker with Harry Kane set to extend his contract until 2029 following his Ballon d'Or victory.
FC Bayern Munich are preparing to host Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, October 31, 2026, in a high-stakes Der Klassiker clash between the Bundesliga's only remaining undefeated sides. Fresh off winning the 2026 Ballon d'Or, 33-year-old striker Harry Kane is set to sign a contract extension keeping him with the Bavarian giants until mid-2029. Bayern supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed that the club is breaking its traditional contract policy regarding players over 30 to secure Kane's long-term future.
Speaking on the decision, Rummenigge explained: "In the past, I would have said you should only give players over 30 one-year contracts. But there are exceptions when you are convinced by a player. And we are convinced by Harry." In addition to Kane's contract news, winger Michael Olise enters Saturday's fixture in red-hot form, having recorded six goals and three assists in seven Bundesliga appearances so far this season.
