Manchester United Chiefs Hold Carrington Crisis Talks Over Michael Carrick's Future
Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox gathered at Carrington following Manchester United's 3–0 loss to Bournemouth, which left the club 16th in the Premier League table.
Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada and sporting director Jason Wilcox held crisis meetings at Carrington on October 26, 2026, to determine the future of head coach Michael Carrick. The discussions followed United's heavy 3–0 Premier League defeat to Bournemouth on October 25, a result that extended the club's winless run to eight matches across all competitions and left them sitting 16th in the league table.
Carrick arrived at the Carrington training ground on Monday afternoon to watch the club's Under-21 side take on Hull City before departing around 5:00 p.m. local time. Addressing the ongoing speculation surrounding his tenure, Carrick stated: "I totally understand the situation. I'm not expecting anything in particular, to be honest. Carrying on as normal, and you know, I love this place."
