Bayern Munich Host RB Leipzig at Allianz Arena Looking to Regain Momentum
Vincent Kompany's Bayern Munich aim to bounce back in the Bundesliga against fifth-placed RB Leipzig after a dramatic 3-3 Champions League draw against Viking FK.
Bayern Munich prepare to host RB Leipzig on Saturday at the Allianz Arena as they look to build momentum on Bundesliga Matchday 6. Manager Vincent Kompany and his squad come into the game following a chaotic 3-3 Champions League draw away to Norwegian champions Viking FK on Tuesday evening. In that European encounter, Harry Kane scored two second-half goals (a 54th-minute penalty and a 60th-minute finish) and Luis Díaz added a third in the 70th minute as Bayern rallied back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2. However, Michael Olise was sent off, and Viking's Herman Johan Haugen netted a 90th-minute equalizer.
In domestic action, Bayern Munich currently occupy third place in the Bundesliga table with 11 points, following a 2-2 draw with FC Augsburg last weekend. They enter Saturday's clash eager to close the gap on the early league leaders when they face a fifth-placed RB Leipzig side that will also be seeking a strong performance.
