Vinícius Júnior Suspended for Four LaLiga Matches After Red Card
Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior has received a four-match LaLiga ban from the Spanish Football Federation after pulling Nathan Saliba's hair, forcing him to miss El Clásico.
Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior has been handed a four-match LaLiga suspension by the Spanish Football Federation's disciplinary committee. The disciplinary action comes after the Brazilian winger received a straight red card for pulling the hair of Villarreal midfielder Nathan Saliba during a recent league encounter. The ruling forces the player to sit out several key upcoming domestic fixtures, including Sunday's home fixture against Sevilla and the high-profile El Clásico clash against rivals Barcelona scheduled for October 25.
Expressing his dissatisfaction with how the punishment was communicated, Vinícius Júnior highlighted the bad timing of the decision. "I think the ban has come at a bad time. They had all day to impose the ban, and I only found out when I arrived at the stadium," Vinícius stated. Defending his disciplinary track record, the winger added: "I have never committed a violent act against another player. I am often brought down, though, and a yellow card is always enough for me."
