Turkish Football Federation Sacks Head Coach Vincenzo Montella After Nations League Slump
The TFF has officially parted ways with Vincenzo Montella following four straight defeats in the UEFA Nations League.
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) officially dismissed head coach Vincenzo Montella on Friday, October 9, 2026, following four consecutive defeats in the UEFA Nations League. The TFF announced in an official statement: "It has been decided that Mr Vincenzo Montella will not continue as our national team".
Montella's departure comes after recent Nations League losses to Italy (3-1), Belgium (3-0), and France (1-0), alongside a group-stage exit at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Montella had originally taken charge in September 2023 and led Türkiye to the Euro 2024 quarter-finals.
