Barcelona maintained their perfect La Liga start with a 3-1 win at Sevilla thanks to Raphinha's hat-trick. Harry Kane made Bundesliga history in Bayern's 7-0 rout, while Arsenal suffered a 3-0 loss to Brighton.
Barcelona continued their unstoppable momentum in La Liga on Saturday, securing a 3-1 away win against Sevilla to maintain their perfect start to the league campaign. The hosts took an early lead in the 19th minute when Youssouf Fofana headed home from a Felix Correia cross. However, Barcelona staged a brilliant comeback; after Lamine Yamal hit the post, Brazilian attacker Raphinha stole the show by netting a remarkable hat-trick. The victory extended Barcelona's 100 percent league record to seven matches. Speaking after the match, manager Hansi Flick praised Raphinha, stating: "We know the quality of Raphinha and we're very happy about him, he gives us a lot," adding that "after these numbers in these eight games, he's very happy to play as a number nine."
In Germany, Bayern Munich produced a terrifying display of dominance, crushing Union Berlin 7-0 in Bundesliga action. England forward Harry Kane etched his name into the history books by scoring twice during the rout, reaching his 100th and 101st career Bundesliga goals. In doing so, Kane became the fastest player in league history to reach 100 Bundesliga goals, accomplishing the milestone in just 98 appearances. Kane shattered the long-standing record previously held by Cologne legend Dieter Müller, who needed 129 matches to achieve the feat back in 1977.
Over in England, Arsenal suffered their first defeat of the Premier League season in shocking fashion as they were thrashed 3-0 by Brighton at the American Express Community Stadium on Saturday. Brighton breached Arsenal's defense with authority, finding the net through goals from Pascal Gross, Charalampos Kostoulas, and Chema Andrés. The comprehensive home defeat delivered a major blow to Arsenal, abruptly ending their flawless start to their Premier League title defense campaign.
