Napoli Surge Seven Points Clear at Serie A Summit with Authoritative 2-0 Win Over Milan at San Siro

First-half strikes from Romelu Lukaku and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia powered Antonio Conte's Napoli to a commanding 2-0 victory against AC Milan at San Siro, extending their lead at the top of Serie A.

SSC Napoli sent a resounding message across Italian football by defeating AC Milan 2-0 at San Siro, moving provisionally seven points clear at the summit of the Serie A standings.

Antonio Conte's side took control in the fifth minute. André-Frank Zambo Anguissa unlocked the Rossoneri backline with a precise through ball, allowing Romelu Lukaku to brush aside defender Strahinja Pavlović and slot an unerring finish past goalkeeper Mike Maignan. The strike marked Lukaku's 100th direct goal involvement in Serie A.

Milan responded with attacking spells from Yunus Musah and Samuel Chukwueze, but Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret remained alert. Just before the interval in the 43rd minute, Georgian forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia doubled the visitors' lead, cutting inward from the left flank before unleashing a ferocious curling strike from 25 yards that bypassed Maignan's outstretched dive.

Paulo Fonseca's Milan attempted to mount a fightback early in the second half, but Álvaro Morata saw a 47th-minute header ruled out for offside following a VAR consultation. Despite late substitutions that included Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leão, the Rossoneri could not breach Napoli's disciplined defensive block.

The victory elevates Napoli to 25 points from their opening 10 league fixtures, cementing their credentials as Scudetto contenders, while Milan remain stranded on 14 points.
